Gary's workshop-cruises combine the best of painting AND travel.  Enjoy and learn the equivalent of one of Gary's regular (land-based) 5-day workshops, while traveling 7 days and nights to beautiful and inspiring destinations.  Gary conducts half-day sessions during "port days" and full-day sessions during "sea days," so nothing is missed.  And workshoppers (and their spouse/friend/partner) are welcome to join Gary (and his wife, Marlene) for various private group events.

Cruising is an ideal workshop environment if traveling with a non-painter spouse/friend/partner.  They are offered a whole host of things to do (or plenty of opportunities to do absolutely nothing, while relaxing and taking in the views).

If you are traveling alone and would like share a stateroom with another workshopper, we will do our best to accommodate you.

This cruise-workshop program is all about FUN, DISCOVERY, and ENRICHING YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF WATERCOLOR.  Of course, with so much visual stimulation, these workshops will focus on destination painting subjects.

Gary teaches his workshops with the same easy-to-follow, step-by-step methods, that have been seen for years on his Public Televisions series, Painting Wild Places with Watercolors.  And his workshops are designed for ALL SKILL LEVELS—so do not shy away, if you are a beginner.  In many ways, beginners are at a
n advantage to learn Gary's painting techniques.  Plus, "First Mate Marlene" is on hand to assist, as well.

On the ship, our painting group will have its own private workroom (with a view!).

Come aboard and join us for a week of fun, exploration, and learning, while enjoying the "Signature of Excellence" of Holland America Line.
