6. How wet do you
keep the paints in your palette bins?
This is difficult to quantify
in words. The important point is that I do always keep them
fluid (wet). I maintain them as "pools of paint".
The first thing that I do, every day, is add a bit more water to each bin
and stir--and, usually, a bit more paint. The last thing that I do,
after painting, is cover the palette with "cling" food wrap.
How wet?: Not too watery! I
keep them "just" wet enough to make them fluid.
Then--while working on my painting--I will generally thin the paints out,
in the middle of the palette, for their particular application. It
is far easier (faster anyway) to thin the paints, than it is to thicken
them.
