I have been thinking about the social phenomena of “groupthink,” lately. It seems particularly omnipresent in these current times.
It can be funny in some instances, like in the video above. But overall, it’s a very destruction human trait. Illogical decisions made en masse, where dissenters are subtly (and sometimes not so subtly) ridiculed, can lead to perilous outcomes. The doomed launch of the space shuttle Challenger is one small example.
