A warm (relatively) Montana weather window for a bike ride on my non-birthday. It wasn’t like the early morning La Bamba Beach bike ride — like we enjoyed this time of year in 2020 Florida — but with our new hill-leveling eDrives, it was still great fun.
Twenty Years On A Montana Hilltop

On President’s Day, twenty years ago today, we purchased a house on what is locally known as Political Hill from the Bushes. This is back when “W” was in office.
These Bushes were non-political and we got to be very good friends. Sadly, these two adventurers passed away last year.
This Minnesota emigrant excitedly stayed awake that first night in our new home, watching a full moon and its shimmery reflection on the surface of the mountain-lined Flathead Lake. It had been our longtime dream to live in the mountains. That first day seems like yesterday.
Where does time go?
Thinking eSpring

What do you do if you live in 3-dimensional Montana and love biking, but hate hills? Well, now you can purchase an ebike (aka hill-leveler).
Call me a wimp, but I do not find biking up steep hills any fun. I don’t even like flying down them, because I feel like I am giving up hard earned elevation. But now, with a little electrical assist, hills are fun!
I just assembled Marlene’s new Core-5 and took it for a pre-snowstorm spin. Life changing! This is easily the best invention since the Roomba!
Winter Morning Glow
Where The Sun Shines
The Tortoise & The Hare
BTW, you can see in the distance behind me a low fog bank. This is a classic NW Montana inversion day with thick fog in the valley below and full sun up on the mountains. When we’re socked in at home, we often look at the mountaintop webcam for shadows — not unlike groundhogs, I suppose.
