Once Upon A Time

It is the final day of the deep freeze (for the winter, I think). One more day of being cooped up, so one more day of reviewing my “sky photos” from last fall.
Once upon a time there was a bustling lumber-mill town on the north end of Flathead Lake. These old, decaying dock pilings are remnants of those days.
I am fascinated by the bird’s-eye view of this clear lake — its colors and patterns.
Three Amigos, Dos
I stumbled across this 1991? video of Paul Simon, Steven Martin, and Chevy Chase performing in a real parade somewhere.
I’m not sure why I like it. Maybe because it looks fun or maybe because it’s cold outside, today.
Brrrrr!

The Importance Of Good Pipes

As the son of son of a plumber, I’m well aware of the importance of good pipes. This includes having your internal plumbing checked out to.
I don’t mind the actual procedure, since I’m drugged off into “lala land,” but I’m not too fond of the “day before” fasting and purging. It’s unpleasant drinking a barrel of a swill — even if it didn’t taste like factory runoff water.
TIP: While you ingest your Essence of Lake Erie, watch a mountain climbing documentary. I viewed Meru (excellent). No matter how uncomfortable I was, I realized I couldn’t possibly be as uncomfortable as the starving AND freezing climbers trying to sleep in a flimsy tent while hanging from a cliff. Everything is relative.
Kind of related, here is a one-minute plumbing scene from, not Meru, but from Moonstruck. Vincent Gardenia plays a copper-loving plumbing contractor:
