Due to the pandemic, we didn’t get our Oregon coast fix this year. Our annual Newport watercolor workshop was canceled.

I’ve been doing a little reminiscing, lately. Here are a few past photos:

Raspberry City

We picked raspberries in the neighbor’s garden this morning. I am not so sure my participation was a plus for the operation. It is possible that my “on the job” consumption may have exceeded my net yield.

Groupthink

I have been thinking about the social phenomena of “groupthink,” lately. It seems particularly omnipresent in these current times.

It can be funny in some instances, like in the video above. But overall, it’s a very destruction human trait. Illogical decisions made en masse, where dissenters are subtly (and sometimes not so subtly) ridiculed, can lead to perilous outcomes. The doomed launch of the space shuttle Challenger is one small example.
