A rare sighting of the Pink Flash. True, she rides up the mountain with me, but once set loose on the trail, I don’t see much of her. She quickly leaves me behind in the dust (or snow).

But at least before she pulls away, she always turns to me and says, “Hasta la vista, baby!”

Morgan The Iceman

We were there the first day #26 (looks like #76) put on a pair of skates. I recall it being like a newborn deer’s first attempt at walking.

That was “yesterday.”

Today, the young iceman debuted (as a sophomore) on his high school varsity hockey team. Thanks to technology, we could watch his Minnesota game from our living room in Montana.

Our humble abode on a hill. Far from the maddening crowd (for now, anyway).

Blacktail Ski Area is on the distant peak behind us. Not too far beyond that is the unknown wilds of “Nontana,” where, it is said, crazy people reside.
