I’m not sure how I could have missed it, but I heard this 1992 Lyle Lovett song for the first time, last evening.
IMHO, his performance style and raspy voice turn this simple composition into colorful, soulful musical art.

This is a trailer of an excellent “mountain” documentary (and the crazy-people-who-climb-them-and-jump-off-of-them documentary), aptly named Mountain.
Beautiful filming!
As far as I know, if is only available on YouTube. And to see it in “HD” high resolution, it is apparently necessary to watch it on a TV via Roku, AppleTV, etc. For some reason, YouTube seems to cap the resolution at 480p on computer browsers. But why watch such spectacular filming on a computer screen anyway, right?
Here is the actual documentary link: https://youtu.be/E0Y-iMNmpAA
I found it on Roku YouTube by searching the words “mountain” and “dafoe” (the search word “mountain” alone is too ubiquitous). Actor William Dafoe is the narrator.

As a billionaire master marketer, it is hard to believe Jimmy Buffett was the carefree, margarita sipping, sailing dude that he depicted — but, regardless, it was fun believing he was.
In our previous life as Florida sailors, his music was naturally often in the background. Such great memories.

By accident, I came across this music video gem and learned some interesting things about both “relatively” unknown artists, Dan Seals and Cheryl Wheeler.
I was not aware that “England Dan” (of England Dan & John Ford Coley fame) was the younger brother of Jim Seals (of Seals & Croft fame). Sadly, he died of cancer in 2009 at the age of 61. He’s probably best known for the songs I’d Really Love To See You Tonight and the Marie Osmond duo, Meet Me In Montana.
Addicted (above) is a Cheryl Wheeler written song that he once recorded. Here, they perform together back in 2008. Wheeler, I have since learned, is quite an underrated singer/songwriter. Below, is another example of her great work:
I could not find a live version of Cheryl Wheeler singing the above song, but I think it is one that best shows off her vocal and lyricist skills.
If you were around, you will recognize the above from 1976.
