Photos do this place no justice. Our short hike this morning blew us away!
Biking On Mars (With-Creosote/Bursage-Bushes)
Since our arrival, the weather has been pretty cold and windy, so we have not ventured too far. We did, however, squeeze in a quick 15-mile loop around the neighborhood. We are very impressed by Washington, Utah’s commitment to paved bike trails — very bike friendly community! They have, like, bike highways! We don’t see those in Montana.
You are, no doubt, asking yourself where I got those stylish cold-weather bike gloves? Being the slave to fashion that I am, the answer is Home Depot (of course). I bought these Milwaukee anti-vibration gloves for use with my chain saw, but they ended up being the best palm-cushioned bike gloves I have ever owned (at the fraction of the normal bike glove cost). You can find them here (no, I don’t get a cut).
The bongo biking (and chainsaw music) is Bongo lo Cao Cao.
Mars (With Creosote & Bursage Bushes)
This is the first significant trip we have made since the Covid days.
Our goal was to find a winter escape, within one day’s drive from home, that offers paved bike trail opportunities. We may have found it here in the St. George, Utah. We are anxious to explore the Zion National Park and Snow Canyon areas via bicycles (ebikes, since there is so much elevation variance around here).
I’m Sorry Dave…

For those old enough to remember “the little computer glitch” of 2001: A Space Odyssey, you might find the following article fascinating: AI’s HAL 9000 Problem
Just to refresh your memory:
“This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.”
PS: When I whispered the above text to myself before posting, my Alexa (without prompting) inquired, “What can I help you with?”
God help us!
Tu Vuo’ Fa’ L’Americano
Great clarinetist stage theatrics in this Hetty and the Jazzato Band remake of the old Italian song Tu Vuo’ Fa’ L’Americano. You will likely recognize it.
On The Subject Of Time
New Years Eve. Since the passing of time is the subject of the day, I thought another Leonid & Friends Chicago remake was appropriate.
Not bad for a bunch of Russians and Ukrainians, no?
