
-24 degrees in nearby West Glacier this morning. A bit warmer here, with steam rising off of the lake (balmy -8).
BTW, those are our winter navigation lights — easily mistaken as Christmas lights.

When we wake up to winter inversion fog, we usually check the Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort webcam to see how high the fog reaches. We are at 3,200′ and they top out at 7,000′
Sometimes, by driving up 2,000′ to 4,000′, we can get above the fog and into full sunlight. However, sun does not look to be in the cards this morning.
I know, I live in the Northwest (mountains, tall trees, and fog). What do I expect?

A year ago we were carefree beach bikers. But the “crazy climate” we are immersed in put the kibosh on it for this winter. So, we are back to XCountry skis.
I enjoy the skiing, yet I do miss the sand and salt air and the not-so-comforting rattle of my rusty bike chain.
